The Arcade’s final hours…

The end of another round of the wonderfully addictive Arcade is upon us! Be sure to stop over and play the machines because sometimes these items are never sold again, and other times it can be a while before they are added to mainstore gacha collections! You’ll find a handy shopping guide here, if you need it!

I am featuring items from Pixel Mode and Theosophy’s Arcade offerings. Both have cute food related sets. Theosophy’s Whoa, Sweet Food Truck, Dude set is full of goodies, and Pixel Mode’s Le Petit Chef is perfect for all your summer BBQ needs. First up, Pixel Mode! All items in the below pic, except for the napkin dispenser and the utensil holder, are from Pixel Mode. The napkin dispenser and utensils are from Theosophy’s set.

Cookout

I set up the Theosophy food truck and got to work behind the counter. Hey, an av needs a summer job to pay for shopping, right? My cute top is from Maitreya for Collabor88, and my skin is another item from The Arcade. This is Glam Affair’s Livy.

Spring at The Arcade

It seems that spring has arrived, at least if The Arcade designers have their say in it! You’ll find lots of things “spring” if you stop by, assuming you haven’t already.

One of my favorites is the Happy Gardener set from Pixel Mode. I love the details on this set, right down to the garden hose!

Garden Happiness

I wanted to show some of the details, particularly on two of the three rares in this set. The toolbox and the seed box are both rares. The birdhouse I just love so much (shocker, I’m sure, given my name and blog title!). The potting table is the third rare.

The Gardener's Treasures

Sway’s released this adorable little summer house, the fence set and the cute little garden gnomes as part of The Challenge recently. I thought they’d make a perfect little scene for a couple of other Arcade items. First, the gorgeous rare bicycle from Lark’s Farmer’s Market set, and also the clothesline from Tres Blah’s Spring Living set.

You can see full details on all the Arcade items using the shopping guide located here.

More Arcade from me soon! I’m still sorting through all my winnings!

Grandmother’s Room

So, if you haven’t been to Enchantment yet you still have time. This fairytale inspired event runs through February. One of the awesome items you can grab there is this beautiful bed from Alouette. The sewing items are part of Dysfunctional Design’s new Fabric Shop for We Love Roleplay!

Enchantment

Enchantment is a fair tale lover’s dream event. This second edition features items inspired by the story of Little Red Riding Hood, and there are so many wonderful things to be had. In this post, I will feature a few of the goodies you can grab at this event!

First up, this stunning gown from Miamai. The gorgeous red gown (appropriately) has a hood, and I love the lining detail inside the hood.

Red's Solitude

I paired this gown with the lovely Essences skin Harper, which is at The Dressing Room Fusion’s current edition. This version of Harper includes blonde brow and no brow options. Because I really love the style of the brows on this skin, I’m wearing the blonde, which I think are dark enough to work for gingery and lighter brown shades, too. This pose is also available at Enchantment, from Infiniti Poses. The Better To See You pack comes with a hud for SLink nails, naturally in several shades of red. However, here I wearing Flair nail polish.

Hands

Next up, I’ve combined Enchantment items with some items from other fantasy themed events currently happening. My gorgeous wolf is from Enchantment, and is worn as an attachment that then walks with you. It’s available in multiple colors, but I was drawn to the white. My boots are from Half+Deer, also for Enchantment. They come in multiple color options, all of which include a hud so you can customize things like the soles and laces to better suit your needs. The dress is from Sweet Poison for the Fantasy Room, and comes with a hud that includes three color options – all for just L$70, I might add. I decided that after a hunt, I’d probably be grimy, so I took to Marketplace and found some dirt tattoos from BINA. I will caution, though. In the description for these tattoos they say they are “SLink friendly.” I mistakenly took that to mean they came with appliers for SLink hands and feet, but they do not. Despite what the description says, to me it looked weird without dirt on my hands, too. So I bought Adam N Eve’s dirt, sand and blood SLink tattoo appliers. They include a hud for the nails, which is pretty cool, too!

Searching our hearts for so long

This skin is Essences’ Song. I wanted a bare skin that felt as if it had a bit of… raw nobility. Honestly, I’ll admit it. I was going for a sort of grown up Arya Stark look. And yes, I know Arya’s not a redhead. It’s called creative license, people! My dreads are from Tableau Vivant, and they include versions for both men and women. The crown is by tea.s for We Love Roleplay.

No one can tell us we're wrong

Finally, I fell in love with this dress and cardigan from Beetlebones. They come in a variety of colors, but I went for the traditional red for the cardigan and a grey print for the dress. My boots are fri.day’s Enchantment offering, and they’re crazy cute. The pose is another from Infiniti Poses’ Enchantment collection, and my hair is a recent Exile release.

Nowhere to hide

Definitely be sure to stop by Enchantment before it ends at the end of the month! Not only are all of these goodies (and more) available exclusively at the event, the event design itself is stunning.

Don’t want it to end…

The hardest part of the holidays for me is when they end! I love the decorations, the lights… all the little things that make it magical. Of course, I understand it’s the limited time we use them that makes them so special, but it’s still always sad (for me) to see them go. I’ve had this pesky cold. Not enough to make me spend my days asleep, but it’s a distraction. So, I’ve been taking lots of pics and figured I’d blog some of them, finally, since right now I’m feeling pretty good.

First up… Christmas. On Christmas night I got to spend some quiet time with two friends. The munchkin and I were kind of sleepy, so we made our other friend finish wrapping presents courtesy of Kuro’s Wrapping Gifts prop set (at The Garden). I’m wearing PJs from FateWear and Isley is sleeping in the adorable Waiting For Santa sleeping bag set from O.M.E.N for Collabor88. The adorable dog is from Half+Deer for The Garden. The build is the gorgeous Trilby Dacha from Scarlet Creative, also at Collabor88.

Christmas Friends

Next up, this gorgeous sleigh from Pixel Mode Home for The Garden. There are multiple colors, but I liked the drama of the red & black. There are also Naughty (adult) and Nice (PG) versions, which made me giggle just a bit. It’s gorgeously detailed, and I don’t think this is limited to Christmas at all! I think you can use it all winter long, and you can go grab it at The Garden through January 10th! Especially since the blanket is texture change, making it more versatile. The ground blanket with champagne is included, too!

Sleigh

I have more pics to share, so here we go… this next one features Sway’s Wonderful Life living room set, which is also available at The Garden, as are the cute stockings from Barnesworth Anubis (they are one of the gacha items at this edition of the event). The strewn lights and boxes of Christmas decor are from Second Spaces, and the tree is also from Sway’s.

Christmas

While we were decorating, my naughty KittyCatS got into some mischief! The KittyCatS team really did an amazing job with these Naughty cats. The lights on them even blink, as you can see below. The tree skirt is from tarte. and is one of their gacha items for The Garden.

Naughty Kittens

This next collage features items from The Arcade, which has sadly ended. However, there are still yard sales (just do a search for Arcade yard sales in places), so if you want any of these things, and they aren’t in mainstores, you may be able to find them that way! The gorgeous dining room set is from tarte. and is another item from The Garden. The stockings in the dining room are from Dysfunctional Designs, and they are texture change. Also from Dysfunctional Designs is the cute Christmas tree photo collage on the mantle in the living room. The baking table, and much of the decor on it was from Pixel Mode’s Arcade set, and the hand mixer and tins are from Second Spaces Arcade set. The kitchen shelf was also an Arcade item, this time from Tres Blah.

Christmas Collage

This next pic features Cheeky Pea’s beautiful Yukon kitchen island, and is topped with lots of my Arcade goodies. Featured are items from Second Spaces, Tres Blah, Vespertine and Pixel Mode. If you’d like the name of anything specific, please ask! I normally would list it all, but I want to be sure I get this post done before the holidays are officially over (seeing as it’s New Year’s Day!).

Bake ALL the things!

I wish all of you a wonderful 2014. I want to especially say thank you to all the wonderful designers who have supported my blogging efforts, and to those of you take the time to read.

Tis the season…

I feel like December has just been running away from me! How is it already almost Christmas?! Well, I have a few things to share, and I won’t ramble on (well, I will try not to) because I know many of us are rushing about trying to get ready for the holidays. But can I just say this about December? Holy events and sales! I do love December, even if it likes to sneak by me.

First up, I borrowed my BFF Rosa, and we got comfy in this adorable igloo from What Next. This igloo is What Next’s Arcade offering for this edition, and you have time still to go try your luck. I’m using the Oh Deer Rare version because I love the little mailbox that is included in the rares. Oh, the pretty, sparkly kittens keeping Rosa company (while I am on the lookout for polar bears!) are two of the Purr Balls from KittyCatS holiday collections. There will be more pics of holiday kittens to come because somehow I wound up with ten of them! I know, I know. I need an intervention. My adorable coat dress, hair and boots are both Collabor88 items. The dress is from The Secret Store, the hair (with hat) is Lamb, and the boots are Ingenue.

Polar Bear Lookout

Next up on the agenda! Blacklace always does the loveliest lingerie, and you can count on Mariska Simons for gorgeous seasonal versions, too. This set is one of the Oakley sets designed for those special festive moments. In my case, it’s relaxing on my new Tia sofa that I snagged at The Garden. I bought the entire living room set. I love the vintage design, and it’s hud controlled with texture change options. I’m using one of the seasonal ones, but it has plenty of gorgeous year round options, too. Speaking of vintage, how awesome is the space heater? I HAD to have that. It’s from 7 Emporium for The Mens Dept and it’s beautifully made, like all 7 items (and can be turned off). My hair is Melita, one of the six new styles Truth recently released, and I love the long, loose curls pulled over one shoulder. The house I am in is the Trilby Dacha, Scarlet Creative’s absolutely stunning Collabor88 home for December.

Santa, baby...

Finally, I have to show you this gorgeous new Glam Affair skin, Kaelyn. I love this skin. It’s just so soft and beautiful, which is classic Glam Affair. I am also debuting my new shape (only the face is different). I got bored! Rosa says I don’t look like “her Lucie” anymore, but I’m loving the change. My gorgeous eyes are the latest release from IKON, and they are mesh! You can find them at the current round of FaMESHed.

Kaelyn by Glam Affair

I hope to do a decor post tomorrow! I have so many wonderful Christmas goodies to show you.

Always time for shoes & books

I wanted to squeeze in one final Shoetopia post, and this time I’m pairing with another Geeks ‘n’ Nerds Fair look and some home decor.

LaRoo released three new styles at Shoetopia, named Kim, Khloe and Kourtney. I’m wearing the Kourtney booties in these pics. All three are awesome, and I will absolutely be sharing the other two styles in the future. I paired these adorable booties with Fishy Strawberry’s Geeks ‘n’ Nerds ensemble. The pieces are sold individually and come in a lot of color options. I love tartan, so I had to wear that! My cute book poses are from Nani, and can also be found at Geeks ‘n’ Nerds.

There's always time for shoes & books

I decorated more of my Neva Captain’s Home from Scarlet Creative (at the current round of Collabor88). I love the fireplace in this house (note: I added fire, it’s not included). It’s so charming and rustic. The desk set is from Lark’s Bird Nerd set, another Geeks ‘n’ Nerds Fair item. The cocoa tray on the little rug is a new release from Dysfunctional Designs. It’s scripted to be cocoa or tea and also has multiple texture options. The Geek wall art is from Collage, and I’m pretty sure you can guess what event that is available at! The Winter Is Coming blocks set is from floorplan’s Geeks ‘n’ Nerds offerings, perfect for any Game Of Thrones fans.

Winter Is Coming

Here is a pic of my backyard, featuring a new release from Sway’s… the Christmas tree! This tree comes in lots of colors, but I went au naturel since I was putting it in my yard. Inside, on the cozy rug are some books that are part of Sari-Sari’s Geeks ‘n’ Nerds set, as is the Whovian Tea Time set on the desk. The egg decor and calendar are other items that make up Lark’s Bird Nerd set.

Winter in the woods

Be sure to check out Shoetopia, which closes tomorrow night! And the Geeks ‘n’ Nerds Fair is also a must visit event, especially for those who love geeky and nerdy things!

Witchy Business

I love Halloween. I love autumn. Both of these things have been discussed before, so I won’t wax on about them, but I had to say it again. Collabor88’s October round is just chock full of autumnal, Halloweenish goodness. If you’ve not yet been, you definitely should go over there before it ends because while the items are definitely inspired by the season, most of them will work year-round!

Kuro In Motion’s recent prop pose release was very helpful in my quest to complete the scene I’d created using the Remedy Caravan that Scarlet Creative has in this round of Collabor88. I fell in love with this caravan, and I bought it even though at the time I had absolutely no clue whatsoever what I’d do with it! Once I’d collected some other Collab items, like the chair from floorplan and the tarot cards from flowey, I figured it out. I knew this little caravan would be perfect for the travelling fortune telling witch on the go. My original concept was to wear something that felt… well… vintage. But then I built this sexy menswear inspired outfit entirely around Truth’s Dylan hair, and I realized I would simply be a modern, business woman witch on the go! Here I am resting up for my next session!

Witch at rest

Fortune tellers require clients, so I snagged a friend to be my victim. Uhm. Client. Though, to be honest, the cards were not kind to her.

Witchy Business

In this last pic, you get a better look at my Eerie jewelry from Cae, which is seasonally appropriate. However, it’s definitely not limited to just the Halloween season. You can change the charms via a hud, and there are many options including the moons I am showing here. There are also ghosts, owls, cats, witch hats, spiders, pumpkins and bats… you definitely need to check out this set! I love moons and owls, so I know I will get year-round use of this set.

I’m also wearing the newly released Vera skin from Glam Affair in the Jamaica tone. I feel like a broken record when I blog Glam Affair because a. I always seem to love each new release even more than the last and b. I just can’t stop talking about how gorgeous they are! Vera is no exception to the trend. It’s flawless.

My Bungalow: Part 1

I fell in love with the Barnesworth Anubis Carraway Bungalow that was part of Collabor88 in August. It’s a big house, so it took me a while to decorate it! I have a LOT of pics for this house, so I decided to break it down into two posts.

I modified this house a good bit, in terms of textures. Some of the walls I just tinted, and some I used wallpaper on. Unlike some mesh houses, that was possible with this one. It took some trial and error, but it was a lot of fun to do. I like customizing houses, so that they feel more “me.” I never used to do this, but my BFF Rosa got me hooked, and now I love it.

So, here are the pics… or at least the first batch. I’ll try to keep my comments to a minimum. As always, please click through the pics to see them bigger in Flickr. You’ll also find notes on each pic with where each item is from. If I missed something (I hope not!) or you want more info, feel free to ask in the comments here or on Flickr, or IM me in world.

Autumn Daze

Porch

I have to say this… the Carraway comes with several gorgeous built in cabinets and shelves. The best part? They are all functional, meaning they open!

Mantle

I wanted to particularly point out the adorable Friends artwork seen in this next collage because it is an item from Sway’s for the current round of The Arcade, and you only have a few more days to go try to win it!

It's the little things

Live comfortably

This college shows the dining room built in, which I photographed with some doors open, so you could get a better idea for what I mean about what an awesome detail this is.

And everyone was invited

The second post will be coming soon, so keep an eye out for it!
